A symbol of loyalty and neverending love, Hachik\u014d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>went on to become a cultural phenomenon, an icon not only in his native Japan but to the whole wide world as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The golden-brown, pure-bred Akita was born back in the late fall of 1923 on a farm in \u014cdate, Akita Prefecture, Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A year later, Hachik\u014d was adopted by a professor, Hidesabur\u014d Ueno, who took him in to live in Shibuya, Tokyo. Hidesabur\u014d Ueno was a professor in the agriculture department at Tokyo Imperial University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The man would take the train to his work only to be greeted by his loyal dog on his way back. At the end of each day, the smart dog would leave the house to wait for his owner at Shibuya Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thedailyin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/rare-photos-of-most-loyal-dog-hachiko-6-5e4a8ed2246e6__700-695x1024-1.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-792\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, sadly, on May 21, 1925, Hidesabur\u014d Ueno did not return.
